With close to half a million Instagram followers, we’re not the only ones who wait with baited breath for a Three Birds Renovations reveal. For their 11th renovation in four years, Home Beautiful was delighted to see the team had reinvented the Hamptons aesthetic they are known for. This week we head upstairs to the master suite where the style queens have raised the bar yet again.
The stairs were refinished to match the floors, Oak Elegance engineered timber flooring in Coastal Oak from Godfrey Hirst, with Dulux White On White used on the walls.
Upstairs, the team has given their clients – a busy couple with three kids – the ultimate gift, a parents’ retreat. The main suite was already a good size, it was just a matter of a few cosmetic tweaks and a bit of love.
Three Birds Renovations co-founder and creative director Bonnie Hindmarsh and the team added timber wall mouldings from Intrim, plantation and a custom bench seat, which continued into a dressing table, she says, “to give the couple a bit of luxury in that room.”
The bed was upgraded with a Giselle bedhead from Heatherly Design in Florence Broadhurst Japanese Panels fabric in FB1459 from Materialised and Florence Broadhurst cushions, also from Materialised. “I am a massive fan of mixing stripes with florals and other patterns,” says Bonnie.
The ensuite is crisp and clean in shades of blue and white, via tiles from Tile Cloud and a Reece vanity and fittings. Moisture-resistant shutters from Luxaflex complete the look. And because nothing triggers a swoon quite like a draped sheer curtain, the team ripped the door off the walk-in robe and used a sheer curtain instead.
Tune in next week for a peek at the formal lounge, laundry and study.
