Kitchen
Clean-cut and contemporary, it’s the finer details that really appeal in this practical space. Case in point is the island bench, with a tallowwood top and perforated stainless-steel cabinetry. Handmade Spanish ceramic splashback tiles from Onsite and a plywood ‘Kina’ pendant light by David Trubridge add texture, while citrus-hued Tolix stools contribute a cheery note.
Living room
Though decorated in a sophisticated scheme of greys with contrasting pops of yellow, the living room is still casually comfortable, perfect for weekend lazing. A low Jardan sofa upholstered in Westbury Textiles ‘Nassau’ fabric is light in appearance, yet big enough to spread out on with the Sunday papers.
Dining room
This B&B Italia ‘Seven’ dining table enables inclusive dinnertime conversation and is aesthetically beautiful. Philippe Starck ‘Masters’ chairs, chosen for their light and pretty shape, are a chic style match. Completing the symphony of white is a custom-designed sideboard from Zuster, flanked by an oversized floor lamp from Fanuli and topped with sculpture-like Bang & Olufsen speakers.
To create a clear distinction between the dining zone and the adjacent kitchen and living areas, a feature wall was created with Orla Kiely’s ‘Classic Stem’ wallpaper in Birds Egg (from The Elephant Room).
Master bedroom
The bedroom features a carefully curated selection of pieces, starting with the wallpaper, Neisha Crosland ‘Anemone’. Designer Kate Bell organised the custom-made bedhead, which picks up the colour of the wallpaper and is a classic complement to the cream-painted woodwork in Resene Half Thorndon Cream. The final touch are marble-topped side tables from Jardan.
Walk in robe
One of the home’s highlights, the wardrobe is lined with Laminex in Seasoned Oak and offers generous storage for shoes and handbags.
Spare bedroom
Splashes of yellow and aqua, accented with a vibrant orange, feature in the spare bedroom.
Work space
A pin board covered in leftover fabric from the bedhead jazzes up a corner of this guest room.
