Whether you’re travelling to Sydney for business or fun, or you just fancy a staycation in your hometown, the newly opened Fullerton Hotel is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two.

Formerly The Westin, the hotel was reopened as The Fullerton Sydney in 2019 in the iconic GPO building at No.1 Martin Place.

The hotel is the latest opening from The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts, the company behind the The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore.

The facade of the hotel has been extensively restored, and plans for an internal rejuvenation are also under way.

The rooms

There are a total of 416 guestrooms and suites, 52 of which are in the heritage part of the building, while the others are located in the modern high-rise addition behind.

The rooms have been updated with little luxuries and extras including Bluetooth speakers, Nespresso machines, luxury bathroom amenities and TWG teas. There’s also a pillow menu and tablets which offer a digital concierge service.

Dining options

The Place is located on Level One and is casual yet stylish, with a wide range of Asian-inspired dishes on offer, including chicken curry, laksa and satay, as well as modern Australian options including pan-fried red emperor and braised wagyu short rib.

At the Bar on the ground floor, you can enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea of sweet and savoury treats and freshly baked scones, served with tea, coffee, champagne or a Sydney Sling Cocktail – an Antipodean twist on the famous Singapore Sling.
