Move over hexagon, the next big thing in tiles is the scallop and we can’t get enough of them. We’re seeing some inspiring executions in interiors on walls, floors and everything in between. Here’s our Instagram roundup of some of our favourite spaces using the Shape Of The Moment.
1. Retro patio charm
These tiles are actually square and have an alternating two-toned scallop pattern on them, which can be laid in several different orientations for different end results in the pattern.
2. Sage green splashback
The softest of sage greens, these upward-facing scalloped tiles imbue a warmth into this kitchen via the splashback.
3. Marble shower with shelf
Marble always bring a luxe look and this bathroom is no exception, with slimline charcoal beading giving a contemporary edge to the space.
4. 3D kitchen bench
In relation to the distressed white-painted brick walls, the scalloped effect on this bench registers as smooth, despite the three dimensional undulations.

So much to love about this execution of marble tiles in myriad colours with delicate brass detailing – artisan skills indeed!
6. White kitchen splashback
With every other surface a smooth plane in this crisp white kitchen, the darker grouting in the downward-facing scalloped splashback provides texture and echoes the shape of the cabinetry handles.
7. A fresh look – so clever!
Thinking outside the scallop, these luscious lemon tiles form a completely different pattern when their orientation is changed.
8. Chunky black goes elegant
Classic fixtures and fittings are given a modern feel with these oversized handmade scalloped floor tiles. Hard wearing and hard working.
9. Ombre pink shingle tongues
Taking the long road on the scallop trend, these concrete shingle tiles come in a full rainbow of colours, used here to great effect with a gradient from warm pink through to cool lavender.
