Two-day food and wine festival Rootstock Sydney is coming back this spring and is promising to be bigger and better than ever. From 25 to 26 November, the event promoting organic farming, practice and, of course, pure indulgence is taking place at Carriageworks.
โRootstock Sydney is unique because it promotes farmers and producers, not sales people,โ says co-founder James Hird.โThe goal is to create a dialogue about food, wine and sustainability.โ
While youโre there, savour delicious bites from top chefs such as Kylie Kwong of Billy Kwong, Monty Koludrovic of Icebergs Dining Room and Bar and David Moyle of LongSong. Love your wines? Youโll be spoilt for choice. Sip on some artisanal drops from Shobbrook, Hochkirch and Lucy Margaux Vineyards.
โThis year the food will evolve throughout the day,โ says co-founder Giorgio De Maria. โWeโre collaborating with chefs from across the country with very different styles and weโre incorporating indigenous foods which naturally flows on from the eventโs focus on sustainability.โ
And once youโve satisfied all your culinary needs, enjoy some art, music and informative talks.
Rootstock is a volunteer run not-for-profit event that fundraises and promotes the indigenous agricultural program โGurandgi Munjieโ driven by author and activist Bruce Pascoe.
