The Front / Centre initiative
Putting the spotlight on emerging Australian designers, DENFAIR’s Front / Centre initiative gives five representing entities the opportunity to showcase the best and latest new designs from their region. Expect to see pieces from Craft ACT, Artisan, JamFactory, Designed Objects Tasmania and Workshopped (in association with Australian Design Centre).
This year’s Best Emerging Designer award went to Nicholas Fuller (Designed Objects Tasmania) for his Le Cantilever.

After launching their newest design collection ‘O Series’ at the event, Volker Haug took out DENFAIR’s Best Small Stand award. They’ve also got new additions to their Step & Kick and Discus series on show.
The Sound Lounge
Back-to-back DENFAIR Designer of the Year winner Adam Goodrum teamed up with Woven Image to design the Sound Lounge installation as part of the textile wholesaler’s ongoing Imagination Partners campaign. The lightness of form and repetition of elements within the installation is an attempt to create a visual representation of sound.

All of the timber you’ll see here would have been replaced in a US forest in just seconds – demonstrating the selective harvest process and abundant supplies of the materials.
