Not only will the unique Arc development be conveniently located within walking distance to Barangaroo, Sydney’s new Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wynyard station and Darling Harbour, once completed in 2018, it will feature a range of dining outlets, cafes, retail, five-star hotel suites, a gym, Ice Cave swimming pool and an utterly extravagant rooftop.
The 25-storey development will house 200 high-end units including five penthouses, all with panoramic views and stunning interiors. The public rooftop will feature daybeds, a water feature and a bar.
The futuristic design by Koichi Takada Architects was inspired by Sydney’s varied skyline, landmarks and historic buildings. This will be particularly visible in the various elements that come together making this structure a piece of building art – heritage-inspired lower levels transition to a modern glass-and-steel tower, capped with dozens of steel arches.
“If you ask a child about the Sydney skyline, they draw the Opera House or Harbour Bridge. We wanted to respond to that, we wanted to create something with that quality, something a child could recognise and draw,” said Koichi Takada, Principle of the eponymous architecture firm.
Is it possible that the Opera House is about to meet its match?
