Entertaining area
Thanks to this poolside entertaining area, visitors are always treated to a water view. The table was made by Marx Joinery, and the bistro chairs are from Bunnings. Orange cushions from Watermelon Red top a benchseat, while a wicker sunlounge (try Bay Gallery Furniture) caters to those who prefer to stretch out poolside.
Verandah
The verandah functions as a wonderful all-weather outdoor area and is a favourite family spot. Adjustable louvres can be adapted to let in more breeze, or block out the sun and the rain. For similar, try luxaflex.com.au. Grey cushions from Nest and a yellow cushion from Pony Rider add comfort to the timber daybed.
Kitchen
In the kitchen open shelves provide easy access to an array of beautiful pieces including Samantha Robinson teacups, Mud beakers and an assortment of vintage tins and jars.
Living room
The new television now fits seamlessly within the living room, which is furnished with a vintage timber coffee table and a ‘Lorne Button Wingback’ chair from Early Settler, topped with a Cloth Fabric cushion from Watermelon Red.
Kitchen
Beautiful dinnerware, glasses and biscuit jars are all kept on display in the kitchen above stainless-steel workbenches. Central to the space is a custom-made recycled-timber island bench, which also features open shelves stacked with large platters and bowls. The bench, paired with ‘Utility’ bar stools from Freedom, is a great spot to watch the flurry of activity in the kitchen.
Master bedroom
The new extension comprises a spacious master bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and ensuite. The bed is dressed in Sheridan linen, with an embroidered cushion from Watermelon Red adding a splash of colour. Behind the bed, an Anna Chandler wall plaque brightens up a collection of framed photos and art, including a charcoal nude by Jasmin Zara.
Guest bedroom
Situated on the home’s sunny side, the guest bedroom is warm and welcoming all year round. Tangy tones enliven the room, from a Bonnie and Neil ‘Cockatoo’ cushion from Whitebeach Home & Living to an orange chevron Bonnie and Neil tablecloth used as a bedspread.
Sewing room
Filled with bundles of fabric, ribbon and vintage trims, the sewing room is a creative haven.
Bathroom
An old plant stand, revamped with white paint, provides shelving for towels and beautiful bathing products alongside a vibrant painting by a local artist.
Alfresco area
A timber pergola built by Crosby Family Builders provides welcome shade from the Queensland sun, while hurricane lanterns weathered by the salt air add the gentle flicker of candlelight to evening pool parties.
Greenery
Preferring to take a dip in the pool rather than spend time gardening, the couple chose low-maintenance species such as African milk plants, agaves, succulents and potted frangipanis to add a touch of greenery. The outdoor shower from Reece is popular in summer.
