When it was time to update their Federation-era home, the owners decided to give new life to a small and unused enclosed verandah by transforming it into the kids’ bathroom. With three young children, they knew that – above all – the room had to be functional.
The most important thing was creating clean and simple lines, says the owner, who had recessed shelving installed to keep odds and ends neat and tidy. “Kids’ bathrooms can get hectic, and while
I wanted to give a nod to the heritage of the building, I knew the bathroom needed to be practical and fresh,” she says.
Floor-to-ceiling white subway tiles provide that spotless bright sheen, paired with Calacatta marble flooring for a sophisticated finish. A claw-foot tub and traditional bath filler imbue the room with old-world charm.
The look is pulled together by sweet nautical accents, creating a playfully polished space.
