When interiors enthusiast Shay Smith from Coastal Inspired saw a drab little table on Facebook marketplace she knew it had lots of potential, so she snapped it up for just $40 and set about a mini makeover.
“I fell in love with the design and thought I could bring it back to life,” Shay explains.
She wanted a clean, simple look to fit with the coastal Hamptons style of her home.
The table was smoothed down using sandpaper and an electric sander for the hard-to-reach places, followed by classic white milk paint from Bunnings, applied with a paintbrush.
“I gave the table two or three coats to give it that nice even coverage,” Shay explains. “The process took only a weekend to allow the coats of paint to dry and for the sanding.”
The piece was finished off with new handles, also from Bunnings, and Shay added a new mirror from Spotlight to complete the look.
The dresser has been transformed and looks absolutely beautiful in Shay’s pretty bedroom.
